There was a small surprise in Lagunera where seventh ranked Gigantes (8-12) defeated 5th ranked Jefes (9-9) 94-88 on Tuesday. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Tim Pickett (192-81, college: Florida St., agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Howard Crawford (205-88, college: UAB) who added 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American power forward Aaron McGhee (203-79, college: Oklahoma) with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and American-Puerto Rican point guard Wilfredo Pagan (184-76) scored 17 points and 9 assists. Four Gigantes and five Jefes players scored in double figures. Gigantes moved-up to sixth place. Loser Jefes keep the fifth position with nine games lost. Gigantes will meet league's second-placed Pioneros in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Jefes will play against Ciudad and hope to secure a win.
