Top ranked Paulistano (10-2) recorded its second loss in Sao Paolo on Tuesday night. Hosts were defeated by eighth ranked Vivo/Franca (7-6) 84-79. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Paulistano. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Paulistano won third quarter 25-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was the former international Bruno Irigoyen (196-92) who scored 21 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Center Douglas Kurtz (213-87, college: Hawaii) chipped in 9 points and 14 rebounds. Vivo/Franca's coach Aluisio Xavier Ferreira used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international Jhonatan Luz dos Santos (196-87) produced 15 points and 8 rebounds and forward Germerson Barbosa (202-93) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Vivo/Franca moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Paulistano at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Vivo/Franca is looking forward to face league's second-placed Paschoalotto/Bauru at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Paulistano will play against Liga Sorocaba and is hoping to win this game.
