Regular Season Round 10: Le Portel - St Quentin 69-73

Bottom-ranked Saint-Quentin managed to get a third victory. This time they won against fourth-ranked Le Portel 73-69. It looked good early as Le Portel took a 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Saint-Quentin had a 24-13 second period charge getting the lead and Le Portel was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 69-73. Saint-Quentin shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. American swingman Daviin Davis (193-85, college: Weber St.) notched 16 points to lead the effort and the other American import swingman Ryan Evans (203-90, college: Wisconsin) supported him with 13 points and 4 assists. Five Saint-Quentin players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 22 points and 16 rebounds by American center Jakim Donaldson (204-83, college: Edinboro) did not help to save the game for Le Portel. Guard Benoit Mangin (191-88) added 11 points and 4 assists for lost side. Saint-Quentin (3-7) moved-up to seventeenth place, which they share with Lille. Le Portel at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Saint-Quentin will play against higher ranked Denain Voltaire (#13) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Le Portel will play against Poitiers (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
