Regular Season Round 10: Roanne - Souffel 84-67

There was a minor upset when 14th ranked Souffelweyersheim (3-6) was defeated on the road by seventeenth ranked Chorale de Roanne (4-6) 84-67 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Chorale de Roanne led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Chorale de Roanne outrebounded Souffelweyersheim 37-23 including 23 on the defensive glass. Souffelweyersheim was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Power forward Julien Lesieu (201-83) scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized Serbian forward Alexandre Gavrilovic (206-91, college: Towson) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American forward Jarryd Cole (205-88, college: Iowa) responded with 15 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Matthew Gibson (195-84) scored 12 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Chorale de Roanne moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Souffelweyersheim lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth position with six games lost. Chorale de Roanne will face Lille Metropole (#17) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Souffelweyersheim will play against Orchesien BC and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
