Regular Season Round 10: Vichy Clermont - St Chamond 85-67
Date: December 22, 2015
There was an upset when higher ranked Saint Chamond (5-4) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked JA Vichy (5-5) 85-67 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by JA Vichy. Saint Chamond was better in second period 18-6. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. JA Vichy dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Saint Chamond's 18. Power forward Charles-Henri Bronchard (200-82, agency: Court Side) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Gregory Lessort (197-85) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds during the contest (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Five JA Vichy players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Dustin Salisbery (193-84, college: Temple) responded with 21 points and naturalized DR Congolese guard Jean-Paul Landu-Bongo (185-85) scored 12 points. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. JA Vichy moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Nantes. Saint Chamond at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifth position with four games lost. JA Vichy will face league's second-placed SO Maritime Boulogne in Boulogne-sur-Mer in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Saint Chamond will play at home against Charleville-Mezieres and hope to win that game.
