Regular Season Round 21: Jiangsu D. - TianJin S. 114-116

There was an upset in Nanjing where higher ranked Jiangsu Dragons (8-13) were edged by nineteenth ranked TianJin Steel (4-17) 116-114 on Wednesday. Jiangsu Dragons were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. TianJin Steel made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Jiangsu Dragons were plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard Jordan Crawford (193-88, college: Xavier) who scored 42 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Jason Maxiell (201-83, college: Cincinnati) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 18 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman MarShon Brooks (196-89, college: Providence) who recorded a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds and the former international Li Yi (203-85) added 33 points (!!!) respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. TianJin Steel maintains nineteenth place with 4-17 record. Jiangsu Dragons at the other side keep the twelfth position with 13 games lost. TianJin Steel will face higher ranked Fujian (#13) in Jinjiang in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
