Regular Season Round 21: Jilin NE T. - Zhejiang CB 100-110

Everything went according to plan in Changchun where eighth ranked Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (13-8) won against 17th ranked Jilin Tigers (5-16) 110-100 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 17 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 10 points. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank made 25-of-26 free shots (96.2 percent) during the game. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank outrebounded Jilin Tigers 56-38 including 22 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was American forward Charles Gaines (201-81, college: S.Mississippi) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 15 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Willie Warren (193-89, college: Oklahoma) chipped in 36 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (went 14 for 14 at the free throw line !!!). Four Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank players scored in double figures. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank's coach Ding Wei used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) who recorded 43 points (!!!) and 4 assists and guard Jinming Cui (193-92) added 20 points respectively. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank maintains eighth place with 13-8 record. Jilin Tigers lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth position with 16 games lost. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank will face Shanxi Zhongyu (#14) in Taiyuan in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Jilin Tigers will play at home against Jiangsu TX and hope to win that game.
