A very interesting game took place in Arkadia. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 10th ranked Arkadikos (3-8) to sixth ranked Koroivos (6-5) 89-88 on Wednesday evening. Arkadikos was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 26-16 third quarter run of Koroivos. They made 21-of-25 charity shots (84.0 percent) during the game. Koroivos outrebounded Arkadikos 34-16 including 19 on the defensive glass. 27 personal fouls committed by Arkadikos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American center Darrell Harris (205-84, college: Rhode Island) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Vincent Council (188-90, college: Providence) chipped in 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Koroivos players scored in double figures. Koroivos' coach Haris Markopoulos allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Dutch-British guard Devon Van Oostrum (190-93, agency: Octagon Europe) produced 21 points and forward Eufthimios Gatsopoulos (200-97) added 17 points respectively for the hosts. Koroivos moved-up to fifth place. Newly promoted Arkadikos dropped to the twelfth position with eight games lost. Koroivos' next round opponent will be PAOK (#6) in Thessaloniki. Arkadikos will play on the road against Kavala (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
