No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Naft Abadan (10-4) beat at home 9th ranked Ayandeh Sazan (2-12) 68-58 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Naft Abadan. Ayandeh Sazan managed to win second period 16-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Naft Abadan won last quarter 19-11. They also forced 23 Ayandeh Sazan turnovers. International Mohammad Hassanzadeh (203-90) notched a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds to lead the effort and international point guard Aren Davoudi (185-86) supported him with 14 points. Four Naft Abadan players scored in double figures. Naft Abadan's coach Hemad Sameri allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds by the former international forward Amir Hossein Tatari (201-88) did not help to save the game for Ayandeh Sazan. Amir Alahverdi added 13 points and 4 steals for the guests. Naft Abadan moved-up to second place, which they share with Arak and Chemidor. Ayandeh Sazan lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Army and Shah.Tabriz. Naft Abadan will meet Army (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Ayandeh Sazan will play against the league's leader Petrochimi in Bandar Imam and hope to secure a win.
