An interesting game for Olympiacos (10-1) which hosted in Athens 4th placed Aris (8-3). Second ranked Olympiacos managed to get a 12-point victory 76-64. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Aris. Aris was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 42-27 second half run of Olympiacos. They made 24-of-31 charity shots (77.4 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Aris was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Liberian-American power forward Othello Hunter (203-86, college: Ohio St., agency: David Lee services) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points and 9 rebounds. American guard D.J. Strawberry (196-85, college: Maryland) helped adding 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four Olympiacos players scored in double figures. American forward Jamelle Hagins (206-90, college: Delaware) responded with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks and the other American import guard Dominic Waters (185-86, college: Portland St.) scored 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Olympiacos have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 10-1 record behind leader Panathinaikos. Aris at the other side keeps the fourth position with three games lost. Olympiacos will play against Apollon Patras (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Aris will play against AGOR (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
