Regular Season Round 22: Fujian QB - TianJin S. 101-97

Very predictable result when thirteenth ranked Fujian (9-13) won against 19th ranked TianJin Steel (4-18) in Jinjiang 101-97 on Friday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But TianJin Steel won third quarter 26-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Fujian won last quarter 24-21. They made 21-of-23 free shots (91.3 percent) during the game. Fujian outrebounded TianJin Steel 50-39 including 17 on the offensive glass. Quite impressive performance for Lebanese swingman Fadi Khatib (199-79) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points and 16 rebounds. American point guard Dwight Buycks (191-89, college: Marquette) contributed with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Fujian players scored in double figures. American forward Jason Maxiell (201-83, college: Cincinnati) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 20 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Jordan Crawford (193-88, college: Xavier) added 28 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for TianJin Steel. TianJin Steel's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Fujian moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Jiangsu D. and Qingdao E. Loser TianJin Steel keeps the nineteenth position with 18 games lost. Fujian will face Bayi Rockets (#18) in Ningbo in the next round and are hoping to win another game. TianJin Steel will play at home against Shandong Bulls and hope to win that game.
