Regular Season Round 22: Beijing Ducks - Guangsha L. 134-104

CBA round 22 caused change at the leadership position. Third defeat of league's leader Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (19-3) against seventh ranked Beijing Ducks (15-7) 134-104 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the 14-game winning streak of Zhejiang Guangsha Lions. The game without a history. Beijing Ducks led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Beijing Ducks shot the lights out from three sinking 20 long-distance shots on high 58.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Zhejiang Guangsha Lions' players. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) who helped to win the game recording 34 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. The former international forward Xiaochuan Zhai (205-93) contributed with 22 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Elijah Holman (208-89, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Pensack Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and Taiwanese guard Chih-Chieh Lin (192-82) added 24 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Zhejiang Guangsha Lions. Five Beijing Ducks and four Zhejiang Guangsha Lions players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Beijing Ducks have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions at the other side still keep top position with three games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Xinjiang FT who have the same record. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will play next round against strong Sichuan BW trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Beijing Ducks will try to continue on its current victory against seventeenth ranked Jilin Tigers in Changchun.
