Regular Season Round 13: Maccabi T-A - Bnei Hertzeliyya 102-74

The game between Top Four teams took place in Tel-Aviv. Second ranked host Maccabi T-A (10-3) smashed 4th placed Bnei Hasharon (7-6) 102-74. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi T-A. Bnei Hasharon managed to win third quarter 24-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maccabi T-A forced 20 Bnei Hasharon turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Maccabi T-A especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. American swingman Devin Smith (196-83, college: Virginia) stepped up and scored 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and American-Montenegrin point guard Taylor Rochestie (185-85, college: Washington St.) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists. Maccabi T-A's coach Zan Tabak felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side forward Karam Mashour (198-91, college: Morehead St.) responded with 25 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Drew Crawford (196-90, college: Northwestern) scored 17 points. Five Maccabi T-A and four Bnei Hasharon players scored in double figures. Maccabi T-A have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Hapoel J-M. Bnei Hasharon at the other side dropped to the fifth place with six games lost. They share the position with Ironi Nahariya. Maccabi T-A is looking forward to face league's leader Hapoel Jerusalem on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bnei Hasharon will play against Ironi Nes-Ziona (#9) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
