Regular Season Round 27: Sendai 89ers - Kanazawa Samuraiz 83-76

Date: December 26, 2015
BJ League top team - Sendai 89ers (19-6) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat seventh ranked Kanazawa Samuraiz (12-13) 83-76. Kanazawa Samuraiz trailed by 15 points after 3 quarters before a 28-20 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 76-83 at the end of the game. It was a quality performance for American guard Wendell White (198-84, college: UNLV) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Jamal Boykin (203-87, college: California) accounted for 25 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and American-Panamanian forward Gyno Pomare (203-86, college: San Diego) added 18 points and 10 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) respectively for Kanazawa Samuraiz in the defeat. Kanazawa Samuraiz's coach Yukinori Suzuki rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Sendai 89ers have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 19-6 record. Kanazawa Samuraiz lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 13 games lost. Sendai 89ers will again meet at home Kanazawa Samuraiz (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Kanazawa Samuraiz will have a break next round.
