There was a small surprise when sixteenth ranked Vasto (3-11) edged at home 14th ranked Valmontone (3-11) 73-72 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was guard Vincenzo Di Pierro (175-79) who scored 27 points and 4 assists. Naturalized Serbian forward Marko Jovancic (195-93) chipped in 7 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Stefano Cecchetti (193-86) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Dario Scodavolpe (193-83) added 13 points and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Vasto moved-up to fourteenth place in B, which they share with Padova. Vasto will face higher ranked Bisceglie (#11) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
