Very predictable result when ninth ranked Valsesia (7-7) outscored at home bottom-ranked Trecate (0-14) 97-68 on Sunday. Valsesia forced 20 Trecate turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Valsesia especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. Trecate was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was naturalized Swiss Olivier Giacomelli (198-95) who scored 28 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Guard Nicolo Gatti (190-91) chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Five Valsesia players scored in double figures. Swingman Stefano Scrocco (200-77) produced 20 points and 5 rebounds and Emanuele Gerli (195-90) added 9 points and 13 rebounds respectively for the guests. Trecate's coach already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Valsesia moved-up to eighth place in B, which they share with Desio. Newly promoted Trecate still closes the standings with 14 games lost. Valsesia will face Rimini (#11) on the road in the next round. Trecate will play against Cento (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
