Regular Season Round 25: Jefes - Indios 72-70

Tenth-ranked Ciudad (5-15) was very close to win a game against fifth ranked Jefes (10-9) in Lagunera on Sunday. Jefes managed to secure only two-point victory 72-70. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-16. But Ciudad won second period 21-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Jefes forced 20 Ciudad turnovers. American power forward Aaron McGhee (203-79, college: Oklahoma) nailed 29 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and American-Puerto Rican Javier Mojica (190-84, college: Cent.Conn.St., agency: Paris Global Sports) accounted for 13 points and 5 assists. American forward Tiras Wade (200-81, college: La-Lafayette) came up with 26 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard John Taylor (185-89, college: Fresno Pacific) added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Ciudad in the defeat. Jefes maintains fifth place with 10-9 record. Ciudad lost their eighth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with 15 games lost. Jefes will again meet at home Ciudad (#10) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Ciudad will have a break next round.
