Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Maccabi Haifa (7-5) beat at home 8th ranked Hapoel Eilat (5-8) 79-61. The game without a history. Maccabi Haifa led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American swingman William Graves (198-88, college: N.Carolina) nailed 24 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import swingman Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV) accounted for 14 points and 7 rebounds. Maccabi Haifa's coach Rami Hadar allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Nigerian power forward Alade Aminu (210-87, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Three Eye Sports) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and American forward C.J. Leslie (206-91, college: N.Carolina St.) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Hapoel Eilat in the defeat. Maccabi Haifa have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place. Hapoel Eilat at the other side keeps the eighth position with eight games lost. They share it with Ironi Nes-Ziona. Maccabi Haifa will play against Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#10) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Hapoel Eilat will play against Ironi Nahariya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
