Regular Season Round 11: Poitiers - Le Portel 78-68

There was an upset when 4th placed Le Portel (6-5) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Poitiers (5-6) 78-68 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 26-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Le Portel outrebounded Poitiers 39-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American point guard Darrin Dorsey (188, college: Dakota Wesleyan) who scored 18 points and 4 assists. Kevin Harley (192-94) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. American center Jakim Donaldson (204-83, college: Edinboro) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and the former international Gary Chathuant (190-83) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. The victory was the third consecutive win for Poitiers. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Le Portel lost their third game in a row. They keep the fourth position with five games lost. Poitiers will face Saint-Quentin (#14) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Le Portel will play against Saint Chamond (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
