Regular Season Round 23: Fujian QB - Bayi R. 111-87

Very expected game in Jinjiang where 18th ranked Bayi Rockets (5-18) were crushed by eleventh ranked Fujian (10-13) 111-87 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Fujian. Bayi Rockets was better in fourth quarter 25-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bayi Rockets were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for international swingman TaiLong Zhao (193-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points. Forward Linjian Chen (198-93) helped adding 18 points and 10 rebounds. Five Fujian players scored in double figures. Forward Yuchen Zou (197-96) responded with 22 points and 6 rebounds and the former international forward Yan Cao (196-91) scored 23 points. Bayi Rockets' coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Fujian. They maintain eleventh place with 10-13 record, which they share with Qingdao E. Bayi Rockets lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the eighteenth position with 18 games lost. Fujian will face league's leader Xinjiang Flying Tige in Urumqi in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bayi Rockets will play on the road against Jiangsu TX (#13) and hope to win that game.
