There was a small surprise when seventeenth ranked Lille Metropole (4-7) defeated at home 14th ranked Chorale de Roanne (4-7) 87-69 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Lille Metropole. Chorale de Roanne was better in third quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American guard Jamal Jones (203-93, college: Texas A&M, agency: HMS) who scored 32 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). His fellow American import guard T.J. Price (193-93, college: W.Kentucky) chipped in 16 points. Lille Metropole's coach Neno Asceric used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Steffphon Pettigrew (196-89, college: W.Kentucky) produced 17 points and 9 rebounds and Sadio Doucoure (200-92) added 15 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for the guests. Lille Metropole moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Chorale de Roanne. Lille Metropole will face higher ranked JA Vichy (#11) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
