Regular Season Round 14: Volpino - Udine APU 45-83

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Udine APU (13-1) smashed on the road 8th ranked Volpino (6-8) 83-45 on Sunday. They outrebounded Volpino 39-23 including a 32-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Udine APU shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. The best player for the winners was swingman Michele Ferrari (196-86) who had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Gianluca Marchetti (178-93) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Udine APU players scored in double figures. Power forward Michele Squeo (206-89) produced 9 points and 7 rebounds and the former international swingman Andrea Pilotti (196-80, agency: Players Group) added 10 points respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Udine APU have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of B leader, which they share with Orzinuovi GaGa. Loser Volpino dropped to the ninth place with eight games lost. Udine APU will face Battaglia (#15) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Volpino will play against Moncalieri (#16) and hope to win that game.
