Regular Season Round 4: Toros - Cocodrilos 80-88

Bottom-ranked Toros (0-2) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their second consecutive match to third ranked Cocodrilos (3-1) 88-80. The game without a history. Cocodrilos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 25-of-30 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Cocodrilos outrebounded Toros 48-25 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Toros helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a very good performance for guard Carl Elliott (193-83, college: G.Washington) who helped to win the game recording 40 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. Forward Tony Mitchell (203-92, college: N.Texas) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners. Cocodrilos' coach Nestor Salazar allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Swingman Ollie Bailey (201-85, college: Oklahoma City) replied with 31 points and point guard Andre Barrett (180-82, college: Seton Hall) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists in the effort for Toros. Cocodrilos moved-up to second place, which they share with Guaros and Bucaneros. Toros at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. Cocodrilos' next round opponent will be Trotamundos (#9) in Valencia and are hoping to win another game. Toros will play on the road against Guaros in Barquisimeto and hope to get finally their first victory.
