The biggest surprise of round 11 in National League took place in Afula where guest Hapoel B/S (#1) barely escaped a defeat edging second-ranked Hapoel Afula by 2 points 72-70 on Tuesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hapoel Afula. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The best player for the winners was American guard Paul Marigney (192-82, college: St.Mary's, CA) who scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Keith Clanton (205-90, college: Cent.Florida) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. Four Hapoel B/S players scored in double figures. Puerto Rican forward Gilberto Clavell (200-89, college: Sam Houston St., agency: Inception Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Noam Matalon (197-87, agency: Avi Zilberman) added 21 points respectively for the hosts. Hapoel B/S (10-1) have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Newly promoted Hapoel B/S maintains first place. Hapoel Afula at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with Galil Gilboa and Ironi K-A. Hapoel B/S are looking forward to face Hapoel Kazrin (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hapoel Afula will play against Ironi Ramat Gan (#10) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
