There was no surprise when 9th ranked Hasharon (4-7) was defeated on the road by third ranked Ironi Kiryat Ata (9-2) 84-78. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Naturalized Canadian point guard Simon Farine (188-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 7 assists. American guard Julien Mills (193-85, college: Ball St., agency: HMS) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Ironi Kiryat Ata players scored in double figures. American guard Isaiah Sykes (198-91, college: Cent.Florida, agency: CGL Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 19 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and the other American import forward Rodney Alexander (201-87, college: Oklahoma City) added 18 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Hasharon. The victory was the third consecutive win for Ironi Kiryat Ata. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Galil Gilboa and Hapoel G/A. Hasharon at the other side dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with Ironi Ramat Gan and Hap.R/G Givat.. Ironi Kiryat Ata will play against Maccabi Raanana (#5) on the road in the next round. Hasharon will play against Hasharon and hopes to get back on the winning track.
