Regular Season Round 24: Jiangsu D. - Zhejiang CB 108-105

Important game to mention about took place in Nanjing. Fifteenth ranked Jiangsu Dragons (10-14) saved a 3-point victory at home edging higher ranked Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (14-10) 108-105 on Wednesday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. The hosts were already 19 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 41-25 Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 108-105 at the end of the game. Jiangsu Dragons forced 28 Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank turnovers. Strangely Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank outrebounded Jiangsu Dragons 40-24 including 32 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. Jiangsu Dragons players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a good game for American swingman MarShon Brooks (196-89, college: Providence) who led his team to a victory with 48 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international point guard XueFeng Hu (185-80) contributed with 19 points, 8 assists and 7 steals for the winners. American point guard Willie Warren (193-89, college: Oklahoma) replied with 40 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 6 assists and Iranian forward Mohammad Samad Nikkhah Bahrami (199-83) added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Jiangsu Dragons moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Fujian QB and Jiangsu TX. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank at the other side keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. Jiangsu Dragons will play against higher ranked Sichuan BW (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank will play against Liaoning Hunters (#5) in Yingkou and hopes to get back on the winning track.
