Regular Season Round 24: TianJin S. - Guangdong ST 104-126

Very expected game in Tianjin where 19th ranked TianJin Steel (4-20) was rolled over by seventh ranked Guandong Tigers (16-8) 126-104. Guandong Tigers made 25-of-33 charity shots (75.8 percent) during the game. TianJin Steel was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for the former international Jianlian Yi (212-87) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds. Nigerian-American power forward Ikechukwu Diogu (204-83, college: Arizona St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds (on 14-of-17 shooting from the field) for the winners. American guard Jordan Crawford (193-88, college: Xavier) replied with 35 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Jason Maxiell (201-83, college: Cincinnati) added 18 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for TianJin Steel. Four TianJin Steel players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guandong Tigers maintains seventh position with 16-8 record. TianJin Steel lost third consecutive game. They keep the nineteenth place with 20 games lost. Guandong Tigers will play against league's second-placed Zhejiang Guangsha Lions in Hangzhou in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. TianJin Steel will play on the road against Shanghai Sharks (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
