9th ranked Ayandeh Sazan (2-14) was outscored at home by fifth ranked Azad (11-5) with the biggest margin this round 80-55 on Thursday night. The game without a history. Azad led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 21 Ayandeh Sazan turnovers and outrebounded them 40-24 including a 26-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international guard Emad Salmani (188-90) fired 22 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Senegalese center Bamba Fall (217-86, college: SMU) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. Azad's coach Mostafa Hashemi felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Amir Alahverdi produced 12 points and Artin Hayrapetian added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Azad have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Arak. Ayandeh Sazan lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the bottom position with 14 games lost. Azad will meet at home league's leader Petrochimi in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ayandeh Sazan's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tehran to the arena Army.
