Regular Season Round 11: Maccabi Ashdod - Elitzur Holon 81-53

The game with biggest result difference took place in Ashdod. Local Maccabi Ashdod (7-4) outscored 8th ranked Elitzur Holon (1-10) 81-53 on Thursday night. Maccabi Ashdod dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Elitzur Holon's 24. Maccabi Ashdod forced 22 Elitzur Holon turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of Nigerian center Olayinka Sanni (188-86, college: W.Virginia, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who helped to win the game recording 20 points. Guy Ben-Simon (-96) helped adding 13 points. Four Maccabi Ashdod players scored in double figures. Maccabi Ashdod's coach Adan Inbar felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nigerian-American forward Atonye Nyingifa (180-90, college: UCLA, agency: Regeneracom Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and the former international forward Shira Shecht (183-91, college: Monmouth) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Defending champion maintains fourth place with 7-4 record. Elitzur Holon lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Maccabi Ashdod will meet Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (#6) on the road in the next round. Elitzur Holon will play against Hap.Petah Tikva and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
