There was no surprise when 5th ranked ASA Jerusalem (5-6) was defeated on the road by second ranked Bnot Hertzeliya (8-3) 70-63 on Thursday. It was a great evening for the former international forward Liad Suez-Karni (187-81, college: Villanova) who led her team to a victory scoring 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Jasmine Thomas (175-89, college: Duke) helped adding 13 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists. Four Bnot Hertzeliya players scored in double figures. American center Shamela Hampton (191-87, college: UNLV) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import forward Asia Taylor (185-91, college: Louisville, agency: LBM Management) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. Bnot Hertzeliya maintains second place with 8-3 record having just two points less than leader Maccabi R.Hen, which they share with Ramat Hasharon. Loser ASA Jerusalem keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Bnot Hertzeliya will meet league's leader Maccabi Ramat Hen on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. ASA Jerusalem will play against Ramat Hasharon (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
