Very predictable result when fifth ranked Maccabi Raanana (7-5) won against on the road 12th ranked Hapoel Kazrin (4-8) 81-76 on Saturday. It was a good game for American forward Samme Givens (198-89, college: Drexel) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 17 rebounds and 8 assists. The other American import guard Rian Pearson (193-90, college: Toledo) contributed with 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Germain Jordan (198-86, college: Dillard) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Rum Cornelius (197-93) added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Hapoel Kazrin. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Maccabi Raanana maintains fifth position with 7-5 record. Loser Hapoel Kazrin dropped to the ninth place with eight games lost. Maccabi Raanana will face Hasharon (#10) in Ramat Hasharon in the next round where they are favorite. Hapoel Kazrin will play at home against Ironi Ramat Gan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
