Very expected game when 10th ranked El Olivar (5-8) was smashed by fourth ranked Sammic ISB (8-5) in Azpeitia 89-66. El Olivar was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 53-28 second half run of Sammic ISB. They also forced 23 El Olivar turnovers. The best player for the winners was French-American forward Jordan Semple (201-92, college: Chico St.) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). Croatian center Aleksandar Marcius (209-90, college: De Paul) chipped in 9 points and 7 rebounds. Lithuanian forward Zygimantas Riauka (206-93, college: Wisc.-Parkside) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and Marc Marti (204-97) added 19 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sammic ISB moved-up to third place, which they share with Lucentum and Araberri. Newly promoted El Olivar dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. Sammic ISB's next round opponent will be CB Tarragona 2017 (#8) on the road where they are favorite. El Olivar will play against Araberri and hope to win that game.
