Regular Season Round 14: Rio Natura Mnb. - Andorra 104-103 OT

Date: January 3, 2016
Twelfth ranked Blusens Monbus won an overtime thriller against higher ranked Andorra by one point 104-103. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Andorra. It looked good early as Andorra took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Blusens Monbus had a 25-14 second period charge getting the lead. Then Andorra managed to tie the game at the end of regular time, but lost overtime period 15-16. Blusens Monbus shot the lights out from three nailing 20 long-distance shots on high 58.8 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Polish swingman Adam Waczynski (199-89) notched 30 points to lead the effort and American-Irish guard Donnie McGrath (193-84, college: Providence) supported him with 14 points and 10 assists. Even 29 points and 8 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) by Georgian center Giorgi Shermadini (216-89) did not help to save the game for Andorra. FYR Macedonian guard Vojdan Stojanovski (194-87, agency: Beo Basket) added 24 points for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Andorra's coach Joan Penarroya rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Blusens Monbus (6-8) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Andorra at the other side keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. Blusens Monbus' next round opponent will be Unicaja Malaga (#9) on the road.
