Regular Season Round 15: Valmontone - Monteroni 88-98

Everything went according to plan when tenth ranked Monteroni (6-9) defeated on the road 15th ranked Valmontone (3-12) 98-88 on Sunday. Monteroni dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Valmontone's 26 and made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Valmontone 24-13. It was a good game for Alessandro Poti who led his team to a victory with 27 points. Center Manuele Mocavero (203-80) contributed with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Monteroni players scored in double figures. Swingman Dario Scodavolpe (193-83) answered with 30 points and 4 assists and guard Federico Nozzolillo (187-94) added 15 points in the effort for Valmontone. Monteroni moved-up to ninth place in B, which they share with Varese Coels. and Volpino. Newly promoted Valmontone dropped to the fourteenth position with 12 games lost. Monteroni will face Vasto (#16) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Valmontone will play against the league's leader Montegrano where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
