Regular Season Round 15: Scafati Cesarano - Roma Luiss 90-77

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Roma Luiss (4-10) lost on the road to fifth ranked Scafati Cesarano (10-5) 90-77 on Sunday. Scafati Cesarano looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a good game for naturalized Croatian forward Marko Mlinar (200-83) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Guard Ernesto Carrichiello (195-84) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Center Eugenio Beretta (206-96) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds and point guard Giacomo Chiatti (183-86) added 15 points, 9 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Roma Luiss. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Roma Luiss' coach Andrea Paccarie rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Scafati Cesarano moved-up to fourth place in B, which they share with Crema. Loser Roma Luiss keep the twelfth position with ten games lost. Scafati Cesarano will face higher ranked Palermo (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Roma Luiss will play against the league's second-placed Napoli Basket (#2) and hope to win that game.
