There was a surprise result when sixteenth ranked Moncalieri (2-13) defeated at home higher ranked Volpino (6-9) 69-57 on Sunday. It was a good game for swingman Leone Gioria (194-84) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Swingman Tommaso Baldasso (194-98) contributed with 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Moncalieri players scored in double figures. Point guard Gionata Zampolli (189-85) answered with 29 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Michele Squeo (206-89) added 11 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Volpino. Newly promoted Moncalieri maintains sixteenth place in B with 2-13 record. Loser Volpino keeps the tenth position with nine games lost. Moncalieri will face higher ranked Crema (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
