An interesting game took place in Avellino where higher ranked Umana Venezia (8-7) was upset on the court of eleventh ranked Scandone AV (7-8) 88-76. Umana Venezia was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 50-36 second half run of Scandone AV. They made 18-of-21 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Scandone AV moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Enel Brindisi. Umana Venezia at the other side keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. Scandone AV will play against VL Pesaro (#14) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Umana Venezia will play against O.Lavoro BO (#15) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
