Regular Season Round 14: Gipuzkoa - Manresa 89-70

Bottom-ranked Gipuzkoa managed to get a second victory, breaking the two-game losing streak. This time they outleveled ninth-ranked La ICL Manresa in San Sebastian 89-70. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 19-point difference suggests that Gipuzkoa is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to La ICL Manresa's 30. Gipuzkoa players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Guard Txemi Urtasun (193-84) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Jordi Grimau (196-83) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Serbian center Dejan Musli (213-91) replied with 10 points and 7 rebounds and American swingman Chase Simon (198-89, college: Detroit Mercy) added 13 points in the effort for La ICL Manresa. Five Gipuzkoa and four La ICL Manresa players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gipuzkoa maintains eighteenth position with 2-12 record. La ICL Manresa at the other side dropped to the eighth place with eight games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Gipuzkoa will play against higher ranked Movil Estudiantes (#17) in Madrid in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. La ICL Manresa will play at home against Laboral Kutxa (#3) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
