An interesting game for Perfumerias Avenida (13-1) which hosted in Salamanca second-ranked Conquero (10-4). First ranked Perfumerias Avenida managed to get a 7-point victory 66-59. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Conquero. Conquero was trailing by 9 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 17-8 charge of Perfumerias Avenida, which allowed them to win the game. The former international point guard Silvia Dominguez (166-87) notched 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and Greek-American guard Jacki Gemelos (182-88, college: USC) supported her with 8 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists by Nigerian-American forward Adaora Elonu (185-90, college: Texas A&M, agency: Josep and Nicolas) did not help to save the game for Conquero. American center Talia Caldwell (188-91, college: California) added 8 points and 15 rebounds for the guests. Conquero's coach Gabriel Carrasco rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Perfumerias Avenida have an impressive 13-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-1 record. Conquero at the other side keeps the second place with four games lost. They share the position with Girona. Perfumerias Avenida will meet Gernika (#4) on the road in the next round. Conquero will play against CREF Hola and hope to secure a win.
