Bottom-ranked Santos managed to get the second consecutive victory on Monday night. This time newly promoted Santos edged seventh-ranked Gigantes in Toluca 72-69. The guests trailed by 9 points after three quarters before their 23-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for forward Chris Cayole (201-85, college: St.Michael's) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Mark Borders (188-82, college: Tampa) helped adding 8 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. The best for the losing side was forward Emmanuel Little (196-85, college: N.Dakota) with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Howard Crawford (205-88, college: UAB) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Santos (7-19) moved-up to ninth place. Gigantes lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 16 games lost. Santos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gigantes will play again at home against Santos (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
