Regular Season Round 16: Valmontone - Montegrano 95-91

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Montegrano (14-2) on the court of fifteenth ranked Valmontone on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by Valmontone 95-91. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. 30 personal fouls committed by Montegrano helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Dario Scodavolpe (193-83) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 assists (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) and forward Stefano Cecchetti (193-86) who added 17 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Simone Gatti (202-82) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and guard Simone Di Trani (185-83) scored 23 points. Four Montegrano players scored in double figures. Valmontone (4-12) moved-up to thirteenth place in B, which they share with Sangiorgese and Padova. Montegrano at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Valmontone is looking forward to face higher ranked Pescara (#7) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Montegrano will play against Giulianova (#8) and is hoping to win this game.
