Regular Season Round 11: Al Khor - Al Wakrah 94-114

D1 round 11 most important game was a victory of Al Wakrah over 6th ranked Al Khor 114-94 on Wednesday night. The game was mostly controlled by Al Wakrah. Al Khor managed to win fourth quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Al Wakrah dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Al Khor's 48. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American-Ghanian Adamu Saaka (198-88, college: Furman, agency: Court Side) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. The former international point guard Boney Watson (183-78, college: Sam Houston St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. Watson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Al Wakrah players scored in double figures. American point guard Patrick Rembert (185-89, college: Cal-Irvine) answered with 35 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Ivorian-American swingman Charles Abouo (197-89, college: BYU, agency: Dynamics Global Management) added 27 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Al Khor. Al Wakrah have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 5-5 record. Al Khor lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with six games lost. Al Wakrah will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Al Khor will play at home against Al Gharafa (#3) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
