Regular Season Round 16: Faenza - Trecate 85-73

There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Trecate (0-16) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Faenza (7-9) 85-73 on Wednesday. Faenza made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game, while Trecate only scored five points from the stripe. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Jacopo Silimbani (202-86, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks and center Giammarco Sangiorgi (206-91) who added 11 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Five Faenza players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Patrick Grossini (193-79) responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds and Emanuele Gerli (195-90) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Faenza moved-up to ninth place in B, which they share with Volpino and Pavia. Trecate at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with 16 games lost. Faenza will face Torino (#15) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Trecate will play against Rimini and hopes to get finally their first victory.
