Bottom-ranked Virtus Cagliari is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 14th consecutive match to eighth ranked San Salvatore (7-6) 75-64 on Wednesday evening. The game was mostly controlled by San Salvatore. Virtus Cagliari was better in third quarter 21-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Virtus Cagliari to just 7 points in second quarter. San Salvatore forced 23 Virtus Cagliari turnovers. It was a very good performance for point guard Anna Lussu (163-85) who helped to win the game recording 23 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Forward Giorgia Manfrc (183-92) contributed with 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four San Salvatore players scored in double figures. Croatian forward Mia Masic (180-93) answered with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds and forward Carolina Scibelli (182-86) added 18 points in the effort for Virtus Cagliari. San Salvatore maintains eighth place in A2 with 7-6 record. Loser Virtus Cagliari still closes the standings with 14 games lost. San Salvatore will face higher ranked Milano (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Virtus Cagliari will play against Costa Masnaga (#10) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
