Very predictable result when fourth ranked Mogi (8-5) won against 9th ranked Sao Jose/Vinac (5-8) in Mogi das Cruzes 82-70. The game was mostly controlled by Mogi. Sao Jose/Vinac was better in second period 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Sao Jose/Vinac 33-22 including 22 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was naturalized American Shamell Stallworth (195-80, college: USF, agency: Interperformances) who scored 16 points and 5 assists. The former international point guard Larry Taylor (185-80, college: Missouri Western) chipped in 18 points and 4 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Scott Rodgers (191-87, college: Drexel, agency: DTMones) who recorded 21 points and forward Cesar Araujo (201-81) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively.
