Regular Season Round 28: Shanghai S. - Fujian QB 99-85

The game between closely ranked teams ended with tenth ranked Shanghai Sharks' (14-14) home victory over 11th ranked Fujian (11-17) 99-85. The game was mostly controlled by Shanghai Sharks. Fujian was better in third quarter 27-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard A.J. Price (188-86, college: Connecticut) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 7 assists (made all of his eight free throws) and forward Liang Cai (203-92) who added 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Shanghai Sharks' coach Peng Liu used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Jeremy Tyler (208-91, college: Louisville) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks and his fellow American import point guard Dwight Buycks (191-89, college: Marquette) scored 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Shanghai Sharks and five Fujian players scored in double figures. Shanghai Sharks moved-up to ninth place, which they share with DongGuan L. Fujian at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with 17 games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Shanghai Sharks will play against Jiangsu Dragons (#14) in Nanjing in the next round where they are favorite. Fujian will play on the road against Shandong Bulls in Jinan and hopes to get back on the winning track.
