Regular Season Round 15: Franca - Bauru 68-90
Date: January 8, 2016
The game in Sao Paulo supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (11-3) played at the court of 8th ranked Vivo/Franca (6-7). Paschoalotto/Bauru smashed Vivo/Franca 90-68 on Friday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Vivo/Franca. The game was mostly controlled by Paschoalotto/Bauru. Vivo/Franca managed to win fourth quarter 16-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Paschoalotto/Bauru made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Paschoalotto/Bauru had a 32-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 55.2 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for the former international Jefferson Andrade (207-83) who led the winners and scored 30 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eleven shots !!!). The former international guard Alex Garcia (191-80, agency: Interperformances) accounted for 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Four Paschoalotto/Bauru players scored in double figures. Forward Thiago Mathias (206-89, college: N.Mexico JC) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and Isaac Goncalves (196-90) added 11 points respectively for Vivo/Franca in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Paschoalotto/Bauru maintains second place with 11-3 record having just one point less than leader Paulistano, which they share with Flamengo. Loser Vivo/Franca keeps the eighth position with seven games lost. Paschoalotto/Bauru will meet Flamengo (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Vivo/Franca will play against Macae (#13) and hope to secure a win.
