Regular Season Round 16: Chartres - St Vallier 74-78

Very expected game when 14th ranked UB Chartres (6-9) was defeated at home by third ranked Saint Vallier (11-5) 78-74 on Saturday. UB Chartres was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 7-point lead after three quarters before a 23-12 charge of Saint Vallier, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Jesse Delhomme (189-85) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Jonathan Hoyaux (196-88) who added 16 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Benjamin Smith (178-87, college: Jacksonville, agency: Comsport) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 assists and 4 steals and Lithuanian forward Vaidotas Pridotkas (200-84) scored 19 points. Four UB Chartres players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Saint Vallier have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 11-5 record behind leader Blois, which they share with Lourdes. Loser UB Chartres keeps the fourteenth place with nine games lost. Saint Vallier will face La Rochelle (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. UB Chartres will play against Caen (#6) and hope to win that game.
