Regular Season Round 12: Promitheas - Psyhiko 76-70

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Promitheas (9-3) beat 11th ranked Psyhiko (4-7) in Patras 76-70 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 22-9 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. The winners were led by Angelos Tsamis (192-81) who scored that evening 16 points and 7 assists and Bosnian-British center Fahro Alihodzic (208-89, college: UAB) supported him with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Four Promitheas players scored in double figures. Even 17 points and 6 rebounds by guard Giannis Dimakos (192-94) did not help to save the game for Psyhiko. Forward Nikolaos Papanikolaou (209-85) added 15 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Promitheas have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory Promitheas went down to fourth position due to points difference. Loser Psyhiko dropped to the eighth place with seven games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Promitheas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Psyhiko will play against Doxa Pefkon (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
