Regular Season Round 17: Astoria Bydg. - Znicz Basket 91-88

A very interesting game took place in Bydgoszcz. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Znicz Basket (10-7) to ninth ranked Astoria Bydg. (8-9) 91-88 on Saturday evening. Astoria Bydg. forced 19 Znicz Basket turnovers. Point guard Pawel Lewandowski (186-83) nailed 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and swingman Hubert Mazur (190-84, agency: Promotex) accounted for 14 points and 9 rebounds. Swingman Damian Janiak (195-89) came up with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and point guard Kamil Czosnowski (180-95) added 17 points and 5 assists respectively for Znicz Basket in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Znicz Basket's coach Marek Zapalowski rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Astoria Bydg. moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Rosa II Radom. Znicz Basket at the other side dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. Astoria Bydg.'s next round opponent will be higher ranked Spojnia (#7) in Stargard and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
